Are we there yet?

I must have said this 100 times on the way to Vegas. But finally I saw the castle and knew we were near the Tropicana. We got to our room, but this time no living room! And no chocolates on the pillow. I promised daddy not to mention this when we thanked Linda for comp'ing our room.

Shampoo Shelly

This week was my last swim lesson with "Shampoo" Shelly. Daddy gave her that nickname because all we've ever seen of her is head and shoulders. Now I have Jean as my instructor although I'm not sure what her nickname should be. We're working on it.

Also, I had a scary moment in the pool last week. I always play around by the shallow end steps before my lesson. But I got into the deep end by mistake. I frantically kicked and paddled back to the steps until I could touch again. Momma nearly had to jump into the pool wearing her work clothes before I finally raised my head out of the water and gasped a huge breath. We both then gasped a huge sigh of relief before I explained to her, "I can't breathe under water!"

Lessons Learned

Monday was another school holiday. Daddy worked from home while I played upstairs in my room.

I did a great job entertaining myself running a hospital for babies. But I learned two important lessons. The first is baby powder can make a huge mess:

The second lesson is babies with electronics shouldn't go in the bath or be rubbed with Vaseline.

Music at Sunset

Last night around sunset, Momma and I played along the water at Mission Bay while Daddy went to the OMBAC meeting. I was on the hunt for all things disgusting. I picked up troll hair (algae), dead crab legs, and bits of this and that I found along the way. She refused to carry them for me so I tucked them in my shoes and handed those to her to carry instead.

On the way home she cranked up some music on the radio as the sun set behind us over the water. We pretended to conduct the orchestra when I remembered, "This is Vivaldi!" Miss Johnson had played The Four Seasons for us in the classroom a few months ago. When we got home Momma let me listen to the remaining Summer, Autumn and Winter parts of the concerto.

From darkest Peru

Grandma KC sent me a chapter book about Paddington Bear. There are few pictures between all the words, but still I can't wait to find out what happens to Paddington next. Momma will usually read one page of the next chapter before turning off the lights.

Happy Easter!

I woke up early this morning and ran to Momma and Daddy's room. I could see from their window three eggs out in the yard. The Easter Bunny had been to my house and he isn't very good at hiding.

Bean plant

I put this bean plant in the window sill of my play room hoping it would continue to grow.

Origins

I asked my parents, "May I have a computer?" and they handed me a broken iBook from 1999 and told me to use my imagination.

I immediately typed in Splash.com on my imaginary internet browser. What is it? I haven't figured that out yet. But this is how Splash.com began.
